The German Tennis Federation (DTB) announced on Tuesday, that Germany will host 10-time Fed Cup by BNP Paribas champions Czech Republic in their upcoming semi-final on 21 to 22 April on an indoor clay court at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart.

The Stuttgart venue with a capacity of 4,500 seats has hosted six of Germany’s seven home ties in Fed Cup since 2011, including their last clash against Czech Republic on home soil – a 4-1 defeat in the 2012 World Group opening round.

“The players have a lot of good memories of Stuttgart. The venue will host the WTA Premier event the following week, so we can expect perfect conditions. We are looking forward to our fans and a great atmosphere,” Germany’s Fed Cup captain Jens Gerlach commented. He hopes to welcome the likes of Angelique Kerber and Julia Görges back in the squad.

With Karolina Pliskova and Petra Kvitova as possible members of the Czech team, spectators can probably look forward to four players ranked inside the top 20 competing in this tie.

Germany and Czech Republic have met on eight previous occasions with Czech Republic winning seven of those contests. Their last tie took place in Prague for the 2014 Fed Cup Final.
