Rafael Nadal announced on Friday evening that he is forced to withdraw from the upcoming ATP Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami.
“It was very painful to retire from Acapulco and it’s very hard as well to not play in the USA,” he stated on his facebook page.
The World No. 2. withdrew from the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Acapulco on Tuesday because of a right hip injury. In his only tournament this season, Nadal had to retire from his Australian Open quarterfinal against Marin Cilic because of similar pain.
