Two Italians To Headline Semi-Finals Action In Marbella

Two Italians will headline semi-finals action of the €43,000 Casino Admiral Trophy, being the last seeded players left in the singles main draw at the Puente Romano Beach Resort and Spa in Marbella.

No. 3 seed Marco Cecchinato eased past Ramkumar Ramanathan of India 6-1, 6-4 on Thursday afternoon. The 25-year-old Palermo native saved all five break points he faced, capitalizing on three of his own chances to advance in one hour and 12 minutes. Cecchinato will next face Guido Andreozzi from Argentina, who fought past Italian veteran Simone Bolelli 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. The encounter lasted two hours and 22 minutes.

No. 7 seed Stefano Travaglia outlasted Belgian qualifier Kimmer Coppejans 7-5, 2-6, 6-4. The 26-year-old from Foligno sent down eight aces, winning 67 per cent of his first service points to prevail after two hours and two minutes. Next up for Travaglia will be former World No. 24 Martin Klizan. The leftie from Slovakia cruised past Argentine qualifier Marco Trungelliti 6-1, 6-2 in 64 minutes.
