MARBELLA, March 30, 2018
Stefano Travaglia and Guido Andreozzi will compete in Saturday’s singles final of the inaugural €43,000 Casino Admiral Trophy held on clay at the Puente Romano Beach Resort and Spa in Marbella.
Travaglia edged past Martin Klizan of Slovakia 7-6, 6-0. The No. 7 seed from Italy sent down six aces, winning 79 per cent of his first service points to prevail after one hour and 20 minutes.
Andreozzi knocked out the tournament’s No. 3 Marco Cecchinato of Italy 6-3, 6-3. The 26-year-old from Argentina saved four of the five break points he faced, converting four of his own to seal victory in one hour and 14 minutes.
Andreozzi will appear in his second ATP Challenger final this season after lifting the trophy in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Travaglia eyes his second ATP Challenger career trophy following his triumph in Ostrava last year. Andreozzi could clinch his sixth title. He also won the only previous meeting between the two at the Santos Challenger in 2013.
