After taking a hiatus of three weeks, the ITF Pro Circuit has returned to Djerba for the cuntinuation of the Djerba Open 2018, a series of $15,000 Futures event held on hard courts at the Hotel Jerba Sun Club. Top seed David Guez dominated the 13th ITF men’s event held on Tunisian soil this year.
The 35-year-old Frenchman eased past the tournament’s No. 3 Daniel Perez Sanz of Spain in Sunday’s singles final 6-4, 6-0. Guez, who advanced to the title match without dropping a set, converted five of his 10 break point chances to seal victory in one hour and 16 minutes.
By lifting his 25th ITF Pro Circuit title, his first of the season, the World No. 280 took away $1,944 in prize money as well as 18 ATP Ranking points.
In Saturday’s doubles final, the all-Czech-combination of Michal Konecny and Matej Vocel defeated Daniel Mora of Colombia and Juan Carlos Saez from Chile 6-3, 6-1. The No. 3 seeds finished the encounter in only 53 minutes.
