Fabbiano Comes Back Against Janvier At Tunis Open

The quarterfinals of the $75,000 Tunis Open are set. Thomas Fabbiano and Daniel Gimeno-Traver both came back from a set down to reach the stage of the final eight.

Fabbiano rallied past French qualifier Maxime Janvier 3-6, 7-6, 6-3 on Thursday. The No. 5 seed from Italy won four points more than his opponent to seal victory in two hours and 38 minutes. Next up for Fabbiano will be #NextGenATP Frenchman Corentin Moutet of France.

Gimeno-Traver defeated Gastao Elias from Portugal 4-6, 6-3, 7-6. The Spanish qualifier converted eight of his 14 break point opportunities to prevail after two hours and 30 minutes. Gimeno-Traver will next take on Lukas Rosol from the Czech Republic.

Later in the afternoon, Joao Domingues edged out Jozef Kovalik of Slovakia. The 24-year-old Portuguese won 54 per cent of the total point played, outpointing his opponent 76-66 to advance in one hour and 44 minutes. Domingues will next challenge compatriot and No. 7 seed Pedro Sousa.
