Chris Eubanks from the United States and Prajnesh Gunneswaran of India have joined the winners’ circle on the ATP Challenger Tour. Both players celebrated their maiden title on Sunday.
Eubanks fought past John-Patrick Smith of Australia 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 in the final of the $75,000 Torneo Challenger León in Mexico. The 21-year-old from Atlanta fired 14 aces, winning 78 per cent of his first service points to prevail after two hours and seven minutes. Eubanks earns $10,800 in prize money as well as 90 ATP ranking points, rising to a career-high World No. 184 this week.

Prajnesh Gunneswaran came back from a set down to overcome Mohamed Safwat, who was bidding to become the first Egyptian to win a Challenger title since Tamer El Sawy in 1996, in the final of the $150,000 Kunming Open in Anning, China. The No. 4 seed capitalized on seven of his 13 break point opportunities to secure a 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 victory in one hour and 52 minutes. Gunneswaran took away $21,600 in prize money and clinched 125 ATP ranking points.
