Pavlasek Advances As Seeds Fall At Prosperita Open

With Adam Pavlasek only one seeded player is left in the singles draw of the €64,000 Prosperita Open after the first two days at the SC Ostrava.

The tournament’s No. 7 from the Czech Republic opened his home campaign with a comfortable 6-2, 6-3 victory over wild card entry Marek Gengel. Pavlasek broke his compatriot five times to advance in only 61 minutes. Next up for the World No. 223 will be young gun Zdenek Kolar, who fought past Dominik Kellovsky 6-2, 6-7, 7-5.

Ruben Bemelmans and Sergiy Stakhovsky led the line-up of the ATP Challenger clay-court event. Top seed Bemelmans lost to Frenchman Vincent Millot 1-6, 1-6 in only 48 minutes. Stakhovsky fell to Arthur de Greef from Belgium 4-6, 6-3, 3-6.
