Croatia’s young gun Nino Serdarusic continues his good run of form by reaching the semi-finals of the Prosperita Open. The €64,000 ATP Challenger event is takingn place on the clay courts of the Tennis Club Ostrava this week.
Serdarusic eased past Tomislav Brkic of Bosnia and Herzegovina 6-3, 6-2 on Friday. The 21-year-old from Zagreb saved three of the four break points he faced, capitalizing on four of his own to reach the stage of the final four at Challenger-level for the first time in one hour and 16 minutes.
Next up for Serdarusic will be Frenchman Gregoire Barrere, who edged out last week’s Francavilla champion Gianluigi Quinzi of Italy. The World No. 282 won 6-2, 7-6 in one hour and 21 minutes.
Matteo Donati rallied past Andrea Collarini from Argentina 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. The 23-year-old Italian clinched 52 per cent of the total points played to prevail after two hours and 44 minutes. Donati will next face Arthur de Greef from Belgium, who knocked off local favourite Zdenek Kolar 7-6, 7-6. The encounter lasted two hours and 17 minutes.
