NÜRNBERG, May 18, 2018

Organizers of the Nürnberger Versicherungscup announced on Friday that World No. 10 Sloane Stephens will receive a wild card into the sixth edition of the WTA International Event, held from 19 to 26 May 2016 at the venue of the 1.Fc Nürnberg.

“I am looking forward to my tournament debut and hope for good memories,” Stephens stated.

Tournament director Sandra Reichel is pleased to welcome the reigning US-Open champion in Germany. “I am really looking forward to Sloane. She is not only a world class player, but also a special personality with great charisma.”

The 25-year-old US-American also lifted five trophies on the WTA Tour. Her last title came at the Miami Open earlier this season.
