Hugo Dellien of Bolivia and Italian wild card entry Matteo Donati will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the €64,000 Internazionali di Tennis Citta’ Di Vicenza.
Dellien defeated Gian Marco Moroni of Italy 6-4, 6-4. The No. 4 seed didn’t face a break point, converting two of his own to advance in one hour and 25 minutes.
Donati edged past compatriot Salvatore Caruso 7-5, 6-3. The 23-year-old Alessandria native sent down five aces, winning 71 per cent of his first service points to prevail in one hour and 31 minutes.
Donati eyes lifting his first trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour, facing Dellien for the first time. The 24-year-old Bolivian could claim his third Challenger title of the season, following his triumphs in Sarasota and Savannah.
Earlier in the day, Ariel Behar of Uruguay and Enrique López Pérez from Spain clinched the doubles title. The No. 3 seeds defeated the South American duo Facundo Bagnis from Argentina and Brazilian Fabricio Neis 6-2, 6-4. The final lasted 61 minutes.
