Damir Dzumhur captured his first title on grass, winning the second edition of the Turkish Airlines Open Antalya. The second favourite from Bosnia and Herzegovina fought past No. 1 seed Adrian Mannarino of France 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 in Saturday’s singles final at the Kaya Belek Palazzo Resort.
Dzumhur sent down eight aces, winning per cent of his first service points to seal victory in one hour and 25 minutes.

“It feels great,” said Dzumhur. “This is my third title, the first this year and my first ever on grass. I didn’t expect this one, especially because it is the surface [on which] I play one or two tournaments each year. But it seems, from next year, I should play much more.”
The 26-year-old Sarajevo lifted his first two trophies on the ATP World Tour in St. Petersburg and Moscow last year. Dzumhur, who will be seeded No. 27 in Wimbledon and will face Maximilian Marterer in the opening round at SW19, takes away €76,020 in prize money as well as 250 ATP ranking points.
Mannarino was bidding to claim his maiden ATP World Tour crown and drops to 0-5 in championship matches. The 30-year-old Frenchman also finished runner-up in Antalya last year, when he fell to Japan’s Yuichi Sugita.
“Damir played really well… We both played up and down, but at the end he was more consistent than me,” said Mannarino. “He played really well in the big moments and he deserved to win.”
