Only 94 hours to go until the first rally will be played at the 30th Open Castilla y León Villa de El Espinar, taking place from August 1 to August 9. The tournament’s official presentation was held on Tuesday celebrating the 25th ATP Challenger event with a total prize money of € 42,500 as well as the first edition of an ITF women’s tournament.
The tournament’s founder and president, Pedro Muῆoz, was the first speaker, with the event’s director Virginia Ruano, the Mayor of El Espinar Alicia Paloma, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Junta de Castrilla y León Maria Josefa Garcia Cirac, as well as two players from Madrid with Roberto Ortega, semi-finalist in 2013 and Georgi Rumenov also attending the event.
Pepo Clavet claimed the first title in 1986, when he defeated Roberto Sancha in the final. Defending champion is Adrian Mannarino from France, who beat Adrián Menéndez in last year’s climax.
