Eight players will compete for four spots in the main draw of the €64,000 Sparkasse Challenger Val Gardena Südtirol. The highest ranked player left in the qualifying draw is second seed Kevin Krawietz, who eased past local wild card entry Patric Prinoth, 6-1, 6-3 on Sunday. Krawietz will next play Frenchman Albano Olivetti.
Kirill Kivattsev of Russia knocked off top seed Viktor Galovic 7-5, 6-7(7), 7-6(3) to face Fabrizio Ornago of Italy. Austria’s Alexander Erler will take on Benjamin Hassan from Germany and his compatriot Tobias Simon will play Aldin Setkvic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Main draw action will also kick off on Monday headlined by the all-German affair between Daniel Masur and Oscar Otte.
