The German Tennis Federation (DTB) announced Thursday that the qualifying tie for the newly-transformed Davis Cup by BNP Paribas between Germany and Hungary will take place inside the Fraport Arena in Frankfurt. The competition will be held on hard court over two days on 1-2 February 2019. The seating capacity will be 5,000 places.

The German Davis Cup team will return to Frankfurt for the fourth time following their home ties in 2014, 2015 and 2017.

“The central location of the city of Frankfurt and the excellent conditions there have proven themselves in the past years for us. We look forward to this for us important and only Davis Cup home tie of the next year,” DTB President Ulrich Klaus said.

Twenty-four nations will contest the Qualifiers, competing in 12 locations around the world on a home-and-away basis. The 12 winning teams will join the 2018 semi-finalists plus two wild card teams in an 18-nation Davis Cup season finale, which will take place on hard court inside the Caja Mágica in Madrid on 18-24 November 2019.
