Tennis Australia and Mushroom Events today announced some of the big names set to perform at the AO Live Stage over 15 days of music at Australian Open 2019.
Two huge international acts plus two Australian acts are confirmed for the line-up so far:
DEAN LEWIS (14 Jan)
The Australian artist released his global hit single Be Alright in early 2018, which debuted at No.1 on the ARIA chart and held that top spot for five consecutive weeks. The song has charted all over the world, streamed more than 310 million times globally and is certified platinum and gold in multiple territories including four x platinum in Australia. Fans will have the chance to hear new songs from Lewis’ forthcoming debut album at this headline performance on the AO Live Stage on Monday 14 January.
BASTILLE (UK) (17 Jan)
After selling out their Forum show earlier this year, the Australian Open is thrilled to announce BASTILLE will play one more Melbourne concert at the AO Live Stage on Thursday 17 January.
The British band with front man Dan Smith had a huge global hit in 2013 withPompeii. The band’s latest single Happier, with American producer Marshmello has been in the ARIA charts for the last 12 weeks currently sitting at No.5.
“We have some of the best fans in the world who have been with us since the beginning and we can’t wait to see you all,” the band’s drummer Chris Wood said.

CRAIG DAVID (UK) (25 Jan)
The British superstar announces an exclusive Melbourne show at the AO Live Stage on the second Friday of the tournament, on 25 January.
Touring with his full live band, Craig David will keep the crowds dancing until the sun sets over the AO performing all his including: Got It Good (featuring Kaytranada), I Know You (featuring BASTILLE), What’s Your Flava,Walking Away, 7 Days, Fill Me In and many more.
“I’m really excited to be bringing my band show to the iconic Australian Open and playing the AO Live Stage at Melbourne Park in January,” David said.
“I look forward to seeing my amazing fans again who have been with me from back in the day and the new ones who have just discovered my music – it’s time to party!”
ANGUS & JULIA STONE (26 Jan)
The Australian brother and sister duo Angus & Julia Stone will be the headline act on women’s finals day on Saturday 26 January. The pair have released four albums together, including the most recent smash hit, Snow. The single Chateau from that album has gone 3 x platinum. They will sing all their new music and hits, including the iconic Big Jet Plane.
This is just the beginning of the AO’s 15 days of music, with more acts for the AO Live Stage to be announced in the coming weeks.
For the first time the 5,000 capacity AO Live Stage at Middle Terrace will feature a brand new, purpose-built shade structure, further improving the experience for fans.
By simply purchasing a ground pass or stadium tickets to the Australian Open, fans can access the AO Live Stage.
Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said the music line up designed in conjunction with Mushroom Events was very impressive.
“The AO Live Stage has become a ‘must do’ experience at the Australian Open for so many tennis and music fans and it gets bigger each year,” Tiley said.
“We are excited about changing the space to include a lot more shade, which will make it even more enjoyable and comfortable, and of course presenting another world class line-up of both local and international acts.
“The Australian Open is all about entertainment – whether it be the world’s best players competing on court or some of the best musicians from Australia and around the world performing at the Live Stage. It’s just one of the differences that gives the AO such a unique personality and makes the event such a big hit with fans.”
CEO of Mushroom Events Michael Gudinski believes the two international artists announced today, Craig David and Bastille, as well as Australians Dean Lewis and Angus & Julia Stone, are just the icing on the cake when it comes to the entire line-up of the AO Live Stage that will be announced soon.
“We are very excited about the line-up of International and local talent we have assembled for the AO Live stage in 2018,” Gudinski said.
“The Australian Open tennis is an incredible event and over the past few years the AO Live Stage has cemented itself as an integral part of the Grand Slam tournament.

The popular Cooper’s Saturday will return in 2019, with the artist line-up to be named soon.
