MELBOURNE, December 13, 2018 (Press Release)
The Australian Open is proud to announce that Country Road will continue as the Official Lifestyle Fashion partner in 2019.
Building on a successful partnership, the two iconic Australian brands have collaborated on an exclusive co-branded collection. Inspired by the spirit of summer, the collection includes easy-to-wear fan favourites such as polos, t-shirts, sweats, tote bags and caps in vibrant pastel hues for men’s, women’s and kids. The collection celebrates the rich heritage of both brands with courtside fashion staples that can be worn all year round.
The range will be available at AO Fan shops around Melbourne Park during the tournament, or via the Australian Open shop at australianopenshop.com.
Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said the new co-branded collaboration builds on an already successful partnership.
“We are delighted to launch a co-branded fashion range with Country Road,” he said
“We have worked closely with the Country Road team to develop the range, which is on-trend as the tournament approaches. It’s the second year the iconic Australian brand has been the tournament’s Official Lifestyle Fashion partner and this new range just builds on that relationship.”
The partnership also involves Country Road designing and providing uniforms for on-court officials, including Chair and Line umpires, along with operations staff, the player services team, drivers, medical staff, Tennis Australia staff and management.
“As the Official Lifestyle Fashion partner, we are proud to expand our support beyond uniforms to exclusive merchandise and a reinvigorated retail experience,” Country Road Managing Director Elle Roseby said.
”Country Road’s retail presence will include our popular personalisation service.
“During this year’s tournament 95% of all accessories sold were personalised and we are thrilled to be adding country flags to get tennis goers excited for 2019.”
Designed to be a tranquil retreat, Country Road will activate an immersive pop-up shop located at the new Melbourne Park Retail High Street. Inspired by the brand’s heritage collection, the pop- up will offer unisex adults and kid’s styles as well as personalisation across accessories including CR totes, shoppers, caps and visors.
