Nick Hardt clinched his first professional title. The 18-year-old from the Dominican Republic triumphed on home soil at the Parque Del Este ITF Futures 3 held on hard courts at the Centro Nacional de Tenis in Santo Domingo. Hardt beat No. 5 seed Alejandro Tabilo of Chile 7-5, 6-3 in Saturday’s singles final.
The teenager, who entered the $15,000 ITF Pro Circuit event with a wild card, capitalized on five of his 12 break point chances to seal victory in just over two hours of play.
By lifting his maiden trophy, Hardt collected $2,160 in prize money as well as 18 ATP-Ranking points.
“It’s been a rough year but very happy with the way it ended , winning my first 15K singles title,” Hardt said on instagram.
