DUBAI, February 19, 2019
Dubai Duty Free Ambassador and former world number 1 Caroline Wozniacki took a break from her practice sessions to visit the Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest building and one of her favourite spots in Dubai. Caroline also spent some time showing her fans around Jumeirah Creekside Hotel and all the facilities available for players on-site including the Aviation Club, the gym, her pamper spot – ‘Top Style’ and a tour of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and Centre Court from a player’s perspective.
Caroline isn’t a stranger to Dubai, she picked up the trophy at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in 2011 and continues in her role as a valued Dubai Duty Free Player Ambassador for the seventh year.
Later on Monday, Wozniacki withdrew from her opening match with Stefanie Voegele from Switzerland due to illness.
The Osaka Salad
World Number 1, Naomi Osaka spent an afternoon with Chef Ramola Bijendra from Jumeirah Creekside Hotel – the tournament hotel and spoke about all her favourite foods, her eating regime before and after matches and her go to ‘cheat meal’ which is French fries!
Both Chef Ramola and Naomi were challenged to produce a great tasting salad, they spent time trialing and testing flavours at the live cooking station in the new Players’ Lounge at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel, but there could only be one winner and Naomi’s ‘Osaka Salad’ was a great hit with everyone.
Naomi will begin her quest for the trophy on Centre Court on Tuesday evening when she meets Kristina Mladenovic.
