The Stadtwerke Meerbusch has agreed en extension of its title sponsorship of the ATP Challenger tournament in Meerbusch. This was confirmed by the electricity company at the end of last week.

“This is a strong signal,” says organizer Marc Raffel, who has been busy preparing for the seventh edition of ATP Tennis at Rhein & Ruhr for quite some time. The Tennis Open Stadtwerke Meerbusch will again take place from 12 to 18 August at the venue of the Eisenbrand in Meerbusch-Büderich.

Top players like Alexander Zverev, Florian Mayer, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Steve Darcis, Dustin Brown any more have been guests in Meerbusch in recent years. “The Rhein Kreis Neuss is known nationwide. This is wonderful news for international top tennis,” says Raffel. Defending champion of the clay-court event is Filip Horansky of Slovakia, who beat Jan Choinski from Germany in last year’s final.
