Duckworth Takes Bangkok Open Title

BANGKOK, February 24, 2019

James Duckworth of Australia is the champion of the second part of the JobTopGun Bangkok Open 2019. The No. 15 seed from Australia defeated Spanish teenager and No. 14 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in Sunday’s singles final at the Rama Garden Hotel in Bangkok.

Duckworth sent down 12 aces, winning 77 per cent of his first service points to prevail after one hour and nine minutes.

By lifting his seventh ATP Challenger career trophy, his first of the season, Duckworth collects $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP-Ranking points. The first tournament of the two-week ATP Challenger swing in Thailand was won by Henri Laaksonen.

On Saturday, Zhe Li of China and Goncalo Oliveira from Portugal clinched the doubles title. The No. 3 seeds defeated Enrique López Pérez of Spain and Hiroki Moriya of Japan 6-2, 6-1. The final lasted only 41 minutes.
