The International Tennis Hall of Fame has announced that Chinese tennis star Li Na, French great Mary Pierce, and former world No. 1 Yevgeny Kafelnikov of Russia have been elected to receive tennis’ ultimate honor in 2019 – induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Each player is a past champion at the Australian Open and a two-time Grand Slam singles champion, among their many career accolades.

Li Na has become the first player from Asia elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The new class will be honored on Rod Laver Arena at the Australian Open in a special ceremony with other Hall of Famers on Tuesday evening, prior to the evening matches.
Induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame is the highest honor in the sport of tennis, representing the sum of one’s achievements as being among the greatest in tennis history.
