Marc Polmans of Australia is the champion of the 2019 Zhangjiagang International Challenger held on the hard courts of the Tennis Academy of China Zhangjiagang Branch. The 21-year-old from Melbourne fought past No. 6 seeded Italian Lorenzo Giustino 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(4) in Sunday’s singles final.
Polmans broke his opponent five times, won two points less than Giustino, but secured victory in the tie-break of the fianl set after three hours and 12 minutes.

Polmans notched his second Challenger title and first since February 2018, when he lifted the trophy on home soil in Launceston. The Next Gen Aussie earns $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
There was also Australian success in the doubles event, with Luke Saville and Max Purcell scooping the tandem title with a 6-2, 7-6(5) win over Sriram Balaji of India and Hans Hach Verdugo of Mexico. The encounter lasted one hour and 19 minutes.
