NÜRNBERG, March 26, 2019
Johanna Larsson of Sweden will return to the Nürnberger Versicherungscup for the fourth consecutive time this year. In 2018, the 30-year-old Boden native won her first title in three years at the WTA International Event with a straight sets victory over US-American Alison Riske in the final.
“I am very pleased that Johanna will come to Nürnberg this year,” tournament director Sandra Reichel stated in a press release. “She plays some attractive tennis and is also a very nice person.”
Larsson will join home favourite Julia Görges, who announced her return to Nürnberg earlier in the year. The tournament will offer a total prize money of $250,000 and will be held from 18 to 25 May 2019 on the clay-courts of the 1. Fc Nürnberg
