Following Ashleigh Barty’s triumph in the women’s singles final of the Miami Open presented by Itaú, Bob and Mike Bryan clinched their sixth doubles title at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Florida. The US-American siblings defeated Wesley Koolhof from the Netherlands and Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 7-5, 7-6(8) on Saturday evening.
The Bryan Brothers saved all four break points they faced, breaking their opponent’s serve one time to secure victory in one hour and 36 minutes.

“Bob’s been through a lot on the couch. To have him back at full strength and winning here in Miami, [our] hometown, with all the friends and family support is unreal,” Mike said. His brother had to undergo a hip replacement surgery last August, missing eight months on the tour. “This is a special event for us and to defend it is amazing.”
By lifting their 39th ATP Masters 1000 trophies and 118th team title, the tournament’s No. 3 seeds split $457,290 in prize money as well as 1000 ATP-Ranking points. It was the second doubles crown for the Bryans this season after winning the Delray Beach Open in February.
“A doctor was cutting me open eight months ago and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it back on court,” Bob said during the on-court ceremony. “To win this title is a dream and certainly wasn’t possible eight months ago. This is huge for us.”

The women’s singles and men’s doubles final drew a crowd of more than 16,000, recording the Miami Open’s 14th session record.
