Earlier on Tuesday on Court Central Pierre Andurand, Alexei Popyrin emerged victorious from the battle of the teenagers with 17-year-old Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who claimed his first ATP Challenger match win in the first round.
The 19-year-old Australian capitalized on three of his four break point opportunities to secure a 6-3, 6-2 win in 63 minutes. No. 8 seeded Popyrin will next take on 12th favourite Filippo Baldi of Italy, who benefited from the retirement of Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, leading 6-2 after the first set.
