Pablo Andújar retained his Villena title at the second edition of the €46,600 Ferrero Challenger Open held at the Equelite Sport Academy of former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero, situated in the Province of Alicante.
The top seed from Spain fought past compatriot and No. 12 seed Pedro Martínez 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in Sunday’s singles final. Andújar broke his opponent’s serve seven times, winning four more points in total to secure victory in two hours and 32 minutes.

The 33-year-old Cuenca native clinched his second title within 14 days following his triumph at the Casino Admiral Trophy in Marbella last Sunday.
By lifting his 10th ATP Challenger trophy, Andújar earns €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points. He is projected to be ranked World No. 70 on Monday. Andújar will next go to Morocco in order to defend his ATP Tour title at the Grand Prix Hassan II in Marrakech. Martínez will stay in Spain, competing in the inaugural Murcia Open ATP Challenger next week.
