TALLAHASSEE, April 17, 2019 (Press Release)
The USTA today announced that the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger, a USTA Pro Circuit event held at the Forestmeadows Athletic Center April 22-28, will be broadcast on the Tennis Channel for the first time in tournament history.
Tennis Channel will broadcast opening day action beginning at 11:30am ET on Monday April 22, as well as semi-final Saturday (04/27 beginning at 10am ET), and championship Sunday (04/28 beginning at 12pm ET). Tennis Channel is available across the United States on most cable providers, as well as DirecTV and Dish Network.
In addition, all matches throughout the week will also be available on their direct-to-consumer streaming service, Tennis Channel Plus.
“We are extremely excited to have Tallahassee’s only professional sporting event broadcast to a national audience,” said Tournament Director Karen Vogter. “With past champions such as John Isner and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, it is a great opportunity to showcase our community and the high-quality professional tennis we have here each year.”
As in years past, tennis fans will also be able to view all main draw matches through a free live video stream. This provides the opportunity for avid followers of the sport from across the world the chance to follow the tournament from their very own homes. Matches can be viewed live at www.procircuit.usta.com or tallahasseechallenger.com starting April 22.
Mike Cation will be providing commentary for both feeds throughout the week. Cation follows the USTA Pro Circuit throughout the year, bringing color and insight to weekly action across the United States. Cation has also commentated for tournaments including the US Open, Australian Open, and the Western & Southern Open.
The Tallahassee Tennis Challenger is an ATP Challenger 80 and USTA Pro Circuit event that will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Professional athletes from around the world will be competing for prize money, as well as valuable ATP Tour Ranking points.
