Casper Ruud of Norway leads the entry list of this year’s Sparkassen Open to be held from 4 to 13 July 2019 at the venue of the Tennis and Hockey Club Braunschweig. This was announced by the organizers of the €69,280 ATP Challenger 90 clay-court event on Friday.
The World No. 60, who fell in the opening round to Roberto Carballes Baena last year, will be joined by five more players ranked inside the Top 100. “We are very pleased with the entry list,” tournament director Volker Jäcke stated in a press release.
With 2018 winner Yannick Hanfmann of Germany, Lukas Rosol from the Czech Republic and Spanish youngster Nicola Kuhn three former champions will also be part of the line-up. Kuhn, currently ranked World No. 246, has been awarded the first wild card into the main draw.
Hanfmann will be joined by a strong contingent of German players, as Dustin Brown, Yannick Maden, Maximilian Marterer, Rudolf Molleker, Mats Moraing, Oscar Otte and Peter Heller will also come Lower Saxony.
