Egor Gerasimov clinched his first title of the season, winning the 2019 Guzzini Challenger, held on hard courts at the ASD Circolo Tennis Francesco Guzzini in Recanati, Italy. The No. 10 seed from Belarus defeated local favourite Roberto Marcora 6-2, 7-5 in Sunday evening’s singles final.
Gerasimov struck nine aces and won 57 per cent of the total points played to seal victory in one hour and 31 minutes. By lifting his sixth ATP Challeger career trophy, the 26-year-old Minsk native the took away from the Italian Province of Macerata €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP-Ranking points.

Marcora appeared in his third final of the season and was bidding to clinch his maiden trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour. He finished runner-up to Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan in Budapest and lost the title match in Bergamo against compatriot Jannik Sinner.
Earlier in the day, Goncalo Oliveira of Portugal and Ramkumar Ramanatha of India took the doubles title. The No. 4 seeds defeated the tournament’s second favourites Andrea Vavassori from Italy and Spaniard David Vega Hernandez 6-2, 6-4. The encounter lasted 58 minutes.
