World No. 4 Dominic Thiem will look to finish the clay-court season on a high note this week at the Generali Open, an ATP 250 event in Kitzbühel. The top-seeded Austrian will go for his second clay-court title of the season, after winning the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell title in April and finishing runner-up to Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros for the second consecutive year.

Second seed Dusan Lajovic of Serbia has won seven of his past eight matches after winning his maiden ATP Tour title at the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag and making the quarter-finals in Gstaad. Spanish veteran Fernando Verdasco and six-time clay-court titlist Pablo Cuevas round out the top four seeds.

Two-time champion Philipp Kohlschreiber, who resides in Kitzbühel, will look to earn a trifecta of titles at his home event. The German opens his campaign against Frenchman Richard Gasquet.

American hard-court swing kicks off

A trio of Top 10 players — Stefanos Tsitsipas, Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev — headline the Citi Open, an ATP 500 hard-court event in Washington, D.C..

Tsitsipas reached the semi-finals last year, while Khachanov and Medvedev look to start their North American hard-court campaigns with a big week. Kevin Anderson, runner-up in 2017, rounds out the top four seeds.

Other notable names in the draw include 2014 champion Milos Raonic, three-time runner-up John Isner and #NextGenATP Aussie Alex de Minaur, who took the title at the BB&T Atlanta Open.

Fognini top seed in Mexico

Last year’s champion Fabio Fognini returns to defend his title in Los Cabos as the top seed at the Abierto Mexicano de Tenis Mifel presentado por Cinemex. He is joined in the field by Guido Pella, Diego Schwartzman and Lucas Pouille.

Fellow seeds Taylor Fritz, Cristian Garin, Radu Albot and Mikhail Kukushkin will also look to finish in the winner’s circle at the hard-court ATP 250 event. Grigor Dimitrov, Ernests Gulbis and 2017 runner-up Thanasi Kokkinakis round out the draw.
