The final of the 11th edition of the Ethias Trophy in Mons is set. Third seed Benjamin Becker overcame Kenny de Schepper in close three tie-breaks. Both men hit ten aces but the world number 90 from Germany had the better ending winning 72% of his first service points to seal victory in two hours and 38 minutes.
Illya Marchenko prevented an all-German-final as he beat Jan-Lennard Struff, winning 7-6, 6-3 . The 28-year-old Ukrainian hit nine aces and won 85% of his first service points to finish the match after one hour and 32 minutes.
Marchenko and Becker will meet for the third time with 1-1 in head to head records. Marchenko won the last match in St. Petersburg in 2010.
