Marco Trungelliti is the champion of the 2019 Firenze Tennis Cup Trofeo Toscana Aeroporti. The 29-year-old from Argentina, who finished runner-up to Pablo Andujar last year, defeated No. 7 seed Pedro Sousa of Portugal 6-2, 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final.
Trungelliti converted five of his 13 break point chances to prevail after 67 minutes.

“We know each other very well and it’s always tough to play against Pedro,” Trungelliti said. “Today there was a little of wind, a new situation for this week. He did not play his best game and I took advantage of the situation.”
By lifting his second ATP Challenger career trophy following his maiden triumph in Barletta 2018, the World No. 205 takes away from Italy €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
