STARNBERG, October 6, 2019
The Rolex Shanghai Masters, the eighth of nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, caps off the three-week Asian Swing.
Since 2010, only three players — Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Roger Federer — have hoisted the trophy on the hard courts of the Qi Zhong Tennis Center in Shanghai. Djokovic, the defending champion, leads the way with four titles, followed by Murray with three and Federer with two.
The trio will aim to continue the trend as they return for the 2019 edition, but will be challenged by the likes of first-time Masters 1000 champions Daniil Medvedev, Dominic Thiem and Fabio Fognini, as well as Nitto ATP Finals hopefuls Stefanos Tsitsipas, Roberto Bautista Agut and Alexander Zverev.
