Alejandro Davidovich Fokina continued his good run of form on the ATP Challenger Tour by lifting his second career trophy at the Liuzhou Open. The No. 2 seed of the $54,160 hard-court event battled past No. 9 seed Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan in Sunday’s singles final 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(5).
Davidovich Fokina advanced to the title match with wins over Yunseong Chung of Korea, Russian Roman Safiullin, Yuta Shimizu of Japan and Croatia’s Borna Gojo. The 20-year-old Spaniard capitalized on six of his 15 break point chances in the final to prevail after two hours and 46 minutes.

Davidovich Fokina, who clinched his maiden Challenger crown in Sevilla earlier this season and broke into the Top 100 for the first time this week, took away from China $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Later in the day, Istomin was back in action to claim the doubles title alongside Mikhail Elgin of Russia. The duo fought past No. 3 seeds Ji Sung Nam and Min-Kyu Song of South Korea 3-6, 6-4, 10-6. The encounter lasted one hour and 14 minutes.
