Ulises Blanch is the champion of the Oracle Pro Series – Ann Arbor, held at the Varsity Tennis Center of the University of Michigan. The 21-year-old US-American rallied past No. 4 seed Roberto Cid Suvervi from the Dominican Republic 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
Blanch advanced to the title match of the $54,160 ATP Challenger event with three wins over compatriots including qualifier Strong Kirchheimer, No. 2 seed Noah Rubin, No. 8 seed JC Aragone as well as Germany’s Daniel Altmaier.
In championship match, the World No. 265 came back from a set and 1-4 down to secure victory in one hour and 33 minutes.

“I controlled what I could control this week,” said Blanch. “I just wanted to focus on the little things to get myself back on track. Thankfully it went pretty well all week. It gives me a lot of confidence with all the work I’ve been putting in with my team and my family. I’m aiming higher than this, so at the end of the day it’s all about continuing to get better.”
Following his maiden triumph on the ATP Challenger Tour as a lucky loser at the Internazionali Di Tennis Citta’ Di Perugia two years ago, Blanch captured his second career title and took away from Michigan $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Earlier in the day, Robert Galloway from the United States and Mexican Hans Hach Verdugo took the doubles title. The No. 3 seeds battled past Nicolas Barrientos and Alejandro Gomez of Colombia 4-6, 6-4, 10-8. The encounter lasted one hour and 26 minutes.
