Lukas Lacko leads the semi-finals line-up of the Open Quimper Bretagne Occidentale. The No. 3 seed from Slovakia rallied past Mischa Zverev from Germany 6-7(3), 6-2, 6-4 on Friday evening at the Parc des Expositions Quimper Cornouaille.
Lacko saved all three break points he faced and converted three of his own four break point opportunities to prevail after two hours and four minutes.
The World No. 178 will next take on Cem Ilkel. The 24-year-old from Turkey battled past Vit Kopriva from the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-7(1), 6-1 after two hours and four minutes.
Janvier to face fellow Frenchman
No. 5 seed Maxime Janvier also had to go the distance against No. 14 seed Zdenek Kolar from the Czech Republic, who upset the top seed of the €46,600 ATP Challenger event Guillermo Garcia Lopez from Spain in the third round on Thursday. Janvier sent down eight aces and won 71 per cent of his first-service points to secure a 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 victory in one hour and 44 minutes.
Next up for the World No. 243 from France will be his compatriot Mathias Bourgue. The No. 16 seed defeated ninth favourite Matthias Bachinger of Germany 6-4, 6-4. The encounter lasted one hour and 11 minutes.
