BERGAMO, February 15, 2020
The name “Borg” will return to the professional tennis circuit next week, as 16-year-old Leo Borg of Sweden will compete in the main draw of the Internazionali di Tennis Trofeo Perrel-Faip in Bergamo. The son of 11-time Grand Slam singles champion and former World No. 1 Bjorn Borg received a wild card into the ATP Challenger 80 hard-court event to face a qualifier in the first round.
Borg junior, who is just like his father a strong athlete, with wide, muscular shoulders, captured one trophy on the ITF Junior World Tennis in Tel Aviv, Israel in December last year.

The field in Northern Italy is led by local favourite Lorenzo Giustino. After a first-round bye, the World No. 156 will take on the winner of the encounter between Ivan Gakhov from Russia and Nino Serdarusic of Croatia. Roberto Marcora will be seeded second. The 30-year-old Italian, who finished runner-up to Jannik Sinner last year, will open his title bid against either Italian teenager Giulio Zeppieri or wild card entry Flavio Cobolli.
No. 3 seed Frederico Ferreira Silva from Portugal awaits the winner of the match between Baptiste Crepatte from France and NextGen Italian Lorenzo Musetti. Argentine Marco Trungelliti, the tournament’s No. 4, could be the opponent of Borg.
The tournament will be held at the Palazzetto dello Sport di Bergamo. The champion will received €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
