Jeffrey John Wolf is the winner of the 2020 Oracle Pro Series Columbus hosted at the Ohio State Varsity Indoor Tennis Facility. The defending champion of the $54,160 ATP Challenger tournament and No. 6 seed defeated No. 5 seed Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan 6-4, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
Wolf gutted his way to the championship match with three three-set wins over Briton James Ward, Roberto Quiroz from Ecuador, No. 3 seeded German Cedrik-Marcel Stebe and a straight-set victory against eighth favourite Mikael Torpegaard. The 21-.year-old US-American saved the only break point he faced and capitalized on three of his own 12 break point chances to prevail over Istomin in one hour and nine minutes.

“I just tried my hardest in every point and served well,” Wolf, a three-year standout at Ohio State, said afterwards. “I played some really good players this week but I managed to stay focused. Winning the title in front of my family and friends, all coaches and the Buckeye community means the world to me. It’s a great tournament.”
By lifting his fourth ATP Challenger career trophy, his second of the season following his triumph in Noumea, New Caledonia, and second on the Scarlet and Gray courts in Columbus, Wolf pocketed $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
On Saturday, Treat Huey from the Philippines and US-American Nathaniel Lammons took the doubles title. The No. 4 seeds fought past the unseeded duo of Lloyd Glasspool from Great Britain and Alex Lawson of the United States 7-6(3), 7-6(4). The encounter lasted one hour and 13 minutes.
