Italian teenager Lorenzo Musetti continued his great run of form by reaching the quarterfinals of the Internazionali di tennis Città di Forli. The 18-year-old knocked out the tournament’s top seed Frances Tiafoe from the United States, winning 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
Musetti, who made it into the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome last week, converted four of his 10 break point opportunities to secure victory in two hours and 13 minutes.

“I got off to a good start,” said Musetti. “The match was tough from the first point. I was hard to find a chance to break his serve. I am happy with rallies. I think I have won most of the long points. I came back from a break down in the third set won the match in the end.”
“I’m in good shape, I’m playing really well and physically I feel good despite the matches in Rome. I’m not afraid to face opponents who seem to be stronger than me on paper. If the goal is to win the tournament? Absolutely yes. My dream is to triumph in front of the audience that is supporting me day after day. I hope to win the title.”
Musetti will next take on No. 7 seed Andreas Seppi. The 36-year-old Italian, currently ranked World No. 97, defeated Thomaz Bellucci from Brazil 7-5, 6-3 in one hour and 54 minutes.
