M15 Monastir TUN – Grigelis captures his third consecutive title in Monastir
Laurynas Grigelis is still the man to beat on the ITF World Tennis Tour. Following his two title wins in Monsatir in the last two weeks, the Lithuanian clinched another trophy at the Magic Tours tournament, held at Hotel Skanes Family.
The No. 4 seed eased past Thiago Agustin Tirante from Argentina in the stage of the last four in three sets.
The tournament’s second favourite Daniel Michalski from Poland, who entered the tournament in the qualifying competition, edged out No. 3 seeded Uruguayan Martin Cuevas in the semi-finals in three sets.
Klaipeda-born Grigelis struck 18 aces in the championship match to claim a 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 victory after three hours and 27 minutes. The 29-year-old has lifted his 26th singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour in addition to his ATP Challenger title in Aptos 2011.
M15 Sharm El Sheikh EGY – Vivero Gonzalez seals win
The M15 Sharm El Sheikh tournament, hosted by Soho Square, concluded with Pablo Vivero Gonzalez winning the title.
In the semi-finals, the Spanish top seed battled past Alexandar Lazarov, who represented Bulgaria in the inaugural ATP Cup 2020 in Australia, in straight sets.
US-American Felix Corwin made the last step to the final with a three-set win against three-time season champion Timofei Skatov from Kazakhstan.
Twenty-five-year-old Vivero Gonzalez fired nine aces in the title match to prevail 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 after two hours and 25 minutes. The Madrid native has celebrated his 13th career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, his second in 2020.
M25 Rodez FRA – Sijsling emerges victorious from all-Dutch final
Dutch veteran Igor Sijsling is the champion of the Internationaux de Tennis de Rodez Aveyron, held at Centre de Ligue Aveyron.
The 33-year-old beat Finnish qualifier Otto Virtanen, who was ranked World No. 6 as a junior, in the stage of the final four in two sets.
Jelle Sels from the Netherlands advanced to the final with a straight-set victory against Norwegian No. 4 seed Viktor Durasovic.
Amsterdam-born Sijsling won 83 per cent of his first-service points in the championship match to secure a 6-3, 6-3 win in 64 minutes. The No. 3 seed, who reached a career-high ranking of World No. 52 in 2014, has lifted his 13th singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour in addition to his seven ATP Challenger titles.
