Kacper Zuk of Poland is the champion of the fifth edition of the Future Nord. The No. 2 seed of the ITF World Tennis Tour M25 event, held at the venue of the Hamburg Tennis Association defeated No. 3 seed Chun Hsin Tseng of Chinese Taipei 6-4, 7-6(4) in Saturday’s singles final.

Zuk won 77 per cent of his first-service points and capitalized on his only break point chance in the first set to seal victory in one hour and 42 minutes.

“It was a great match. We know each other, so I knew it’s going to be tough one,” Zuk said. “We both served well in the first set but I managed to break him in the ninth game by hitting some good strokes. In the second set, he started to play better and faster. I had to continue my game and played well in the tie-break. I am glad to win in the end.”

By lifting his sixth career trophy on the Pro Circuit, his third of the season following his triumphs on home soil in Poznan and at the GB Pro Series in Barnstaple in Great Britain, Zuk pocketed $3,600 in prize money as well as 20 ATP Ranking points.“It was a great tournament here and I hope to come back, however, not for the $25,000 tournament, but for the Challenger,” the World No. 284 added.

“I didn’t capitalize on my chances but there is no much I can do better,” Tseng said. “I liked the tournament and the surface. I had a very good time here.” The 19-year-old took away from Hamburg $2,120 in prize money as well as 12 ATP Ranking points.
