Cedrik-Marcel Stebe leads the semi-finals line-up of the inaugural €44,820 Internazionali Di Tennis Citta di Parma. The No. 7 seed from Germany defeated Roberto Marcora of Italy 6-2, 6-2 in the stage of the final four on Friday.
Stebe saved both break points he faced and capitalized on four of his own five break-point chances to prevail in one hour and six minutes. The World No. 141 and only seed left in the draw of the ATP Challenger 80 event will next take on Quentin Halys from France. The 24-year-old fired 22 aces and won 87 per cent of his first-service points to prevail 7-6(2), 7-6(4) in one hour and 48 minutes.
In other action, Liam Broady battled past No. 8 seed Maxime Cressy from the United States 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(2). The 26-year-old Briton withstood 27 aces from his opponent, won three points less but secured victory in two hours and 15 minutes.

“It’s always tough playing against Maxime,” Broady told Italian journalist Matteo Mosciatti after the match. “The way he serves is fantastic. In these conditions, it is a fast indoors court, I knew that there weren’t many chances for me to break him today. I thought, if I focused hard, I could take him to some tie-breaks and today both went my way. I am happy.”
Asked what he needs to crack the Top 100, the current World No. 202 responded: “I think commitment, the lifestyle, the professionalism, to make all the sacrifices and to be disciplined. What I learnt the most from the top players is how committed and how focused they are. I am trying to work on that. It’s hard for me sometimes, but it’s getting better.”
Broady will next play Italian lucky loser Andrea Arnaboldi, who defeated Frederico Ferreira Silva of Portugal 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. The encounter lasted one hour and 52 minutes.
Later in the evening, Gregoire Barrere and Albano Olivetti took the doubles title. The No. 4 seeds won the all-French final against Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul 6-2, 6-4 in exactly one hour of play.
