The quarterfinals of the € 132,280 Istanbul Indoor Challenger are set. No. 3 seed Antoine Hoang defeated Lorenzo Giustino of Italy 6-4, 6-4 on Thursday at the Ted Sports Club in Istanbul, Turkey.
The World No. 121 from France capitalized on four of his seven break-point opportunities to prevail after one hour and 25 minutes. Up next for Hoang will be compatriot Benjamin Bonzi. The 24-year-old from Nimes eased past #NextGenATP Italian and No. 6 seed Lorenzo Musetti 6-1, 6-4 in only 57 minutes.
Marc-Andrea Huesler of Switzerland edged out No. 4 seed Facundo Bagnis of Argentina 7-5, 6-2. The World No. 148, who captured two ATP Challenger titles at the Sibiu Open in Romania and the Wolffkran Open in Ismaning, Germany last year, fired seven aces and won 89 per cent of his first-service points to secure victory in one hour and 16 minutes.
Huesler will play French qualifier Arthur Rinderknech in the stage of the final eight. The 25-year-old Paris resident rallied past US-American Brandon Nakashima 6-7(7), 6-1, 6-4 in just under two hours of play.
