Andy Murray is targeting a record fifth Aegon Championships title after confirming that he will return to The Queen’s Club, 13th-19th June.

Murray joined MJG Ritchie, Anthony Wilding, Roy Emerson, John McEnroe, Boris Becker, Lleyton Hewitt and Andy Roddick as the only seven four-time champions when he defeated Kevin Anderson in last year’s final, and he now wants to stand alone as the only five-time winner.

“If I could win it a fifth time it would be amazing,” said Murray, who has won the event in 2009, ’11, ’13 and ‘15. “The names that have won it four times – they are all great tennis players. I’ve played some of my best tennis at The Queen’s Club over the years. Maybe it’s because I enjoy the tournament – it’s a great event. One of the nice things is that it’s at a club, which you don’t get that much on the tour. I’ve spent a lot of time there, played it 10 or 11 years in a row, and they get really great crowds. The courts are fantastic – I’ve got to know a few of the groundsmen quite well, and they put a lot of hard work and effort in to making the courts perfect.”

Last week, the Aegon Championships was voted ATP 500 tournament of the year was voted ATP World Tour 500 Tournament Of The Year by the players in the annual awards. It is the third successive year that the tournament has won an award; its first as an ATP-500 event.

Spectators can today guarantee a pair of tickets to the Aegon Championships by becoming 2016 Priority Ticket Members.

An annual Priority Ticket Membership costs £30 (plus a £3 Booking Fee). It guarantees members the ability to purchase either a pair of tickets for a day, or two single tickets for different days.
