Mikhail Youzhny continues his comeback trail by claiming two consecutive titles on the ATP Challenger Tour. The 33-year-old Russian, who had to cope with injuries in the past, won both editions of the $50,000 Bangkok Open.

In last week’s first final, Youzhny was the tournament’s third seed and defeated Go Soeda in the final 7-6, 6-1.

The former world number 8 went into the second week as the top-favourite and captured the title on Sunday through a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Adam Pavlasek in 66 minutes. Youzhny didn’t drop a set en route to lift his fourth ATP Challenger trophy. It is his third title within the last three months. Youzhny claimed his first Challenger title in 15 years last November in Eckental.

In each tournament in Bangkok, the current world number 106 took away $7,200 in prize money as well as 90 ATP ranking points, which helps him to break into the top 100 on Monday again.

Youzhny will stay on the ATP Challenger Tour, playing the $75,000 Phlippine Open in Manila next week, before he is returning to Europe to start the indoor season at the ATP 250 Garanti Koza Sofia Open.
