Mats Moraing and Filip Veger will compete for the title of the $10,000 Kirschbaum International ITF Future event in Kaarst on Sunday.
The world number 482 from Germany upset his fellow countryman and last remaining seed Andreas Beck in the semi-finals on Saturday afternoon, winning 6-4, 7-5. Moraing fired 14 aces and won three of his five break points to prevail in one hour and 17 minutes.
Veger lost his service only once to defeat 17-year-old German qualifier Daniel Altmaier 6-1, 6-3. The world number 536 from Croatia capitalized on five of his seven break points, withstood seven aces and won 73% of his first service points to advance after exactly one hour of play.
Moraing and Veger will meet for the first time on the tour.
In the evening, third seeded Ukrainian-German-combination of Danylo Kalenichenko and Denis Kapric captured the doubles title, winning the final against Alexander Bublik and Hubert Hurkacz 6-7, 6-4, 10-7 in one hour and 35 minutes.
