MARBELLA, March 16, 2021
Leo Borg, son of former World No. 1 Bjorn Borg, has received a wild card into the main draw of the AnyTech365 Andalucia Open ATP Challenger 80 event as well as for the qualifying of the following ATP 250 tournament. This was announced by the organizers in Marbella on Tuesday.
The 17 year-old from Sweden captured his first ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Grade I title by winning the Brasil Juniors Cup in Porto Alegre a couple of weeks ago. Borg defeated Brazilian Bruno Kazahura in the final in two sets.
It will be his third participation in an ATP Challenger Tour tournament after he was awarded wild cards in Bergamo, Italy and Pau, France last year. Borg fell in the first round of both events, losing to Chun-hsing Tseng of Chinese Taipei and Latvia’s Ernests Gulbis, respectively. The AnyTech365 Andalucia Open ATP Challenger offers a total prize money of €44,820 as well as 80 ATP Ranking points for the champion.

The back-to-back tournaments will be held from March 28 to April 11 at the Puente Romano Tennis Club in Marbella. The facility opened in 1979, under the management of Bjorn Borg, as part of Hotel Puente Romano. Four years later, Spanish tennis great and four-time Grand Slam singles winner Manolo Santana took over.
Both legends will return to Andalusia this spring presenting the trophies to the 2021 champions.
