Bjorn Fratangelo is the champion of the third edition of the $52,080 Cleveland Open held at the at the Cleveland Racquet Club. The World No. 286 emerged victorious from the all-US-American title match with 20-year-old Jenson Brooksby, 7-5, 6-4 on Saturday afternoon.
Fratangelo, who did not drop a set en route to the final, capitalized on four of his 11 break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 57 minutes.
Some victories taste even sweeter. This is one of them.

“I’m super happy. It was a long road back to full health and I’m thrilled to be back on track to where I belong. I hope I can build up on this week,” Fratangelo said during his post match on-court interview.
By winning his fourth ATP Challenger title, his first since his triumph on home soil in Fairfield 2018, the 27-year-old Orlando, Florida resident took away from the Pepper Pike neighborhood $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
Brooksby, who was riding on a nine-match win streak after lifting his maiden trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour at the Potch Open in Potchefstroom, South Africa last month, earned $4,240 as well as 48 ATP Ranking points.
Galloway/Lawson crowned doubles champions
Earlier in the day, Robert Galloway and Alex Lawson took their first team title. The No. 2 seeds from the United States rallied from 7-9 down in the match tie-break to overcome their compatriots and third seeds Evan King and Hunter Reese 7-5, 6-7(5), 11-9. The doubles final lasted one hour and 58 minutes.
