Rafael Nadal leads the way at the season’s first clay-court ATP Masters 1000 event, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, where he will try to win a record-extending 12th trophy. The Spaniard has been a force in the Principality, where he has tallied a 71-5 record.

But a hungry field will attempt to prevent the lefty from again emerging victorious. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will pursue his third title at this tournament. The Serbian is 9-0 so far this year, highlighted by his run to a ninth Australian Open triumph. Daniil Medvedev, who made the semi-finals here in 2019, is the second seed.

Other players to watch for include red-hot Russians Andrey Rublev and Aslan KaratsevJannik Sinner, who made his first Masters 1000 final in Miami and defending champion Fabio Fognini.

In the doubles draw, Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic will try to claim their fifth title of the season, while top seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah and Australian Open champions Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek will also be leading contenders.
